Dessert night fundraiser

Update.(23/03/07) We had a wonderful dessert fundraiser night at Hairini Marae. Around eighty people attended and just over $14,000 was raised in pledges and gifts on the night. The evening went very well with video endorsements by John Dawson, Frank Naea, Sam Chapman and Pane Kawhia.

There were key people there that night. People from local churches, pastors, directors of national & international mission agencies and business people.     Dave Cole (Impact World Tour) championed the cause that evening and encouraged people to pray about how much to give.

We were blessed by the caliber of people who attended, that the vision of Te Haerenga was shared and the funds raised towards the budget needed for the operational costs of Te Haerenga.

Please stand with us as we believe God for $30,000 that's needed to meet the budget.

We may have another fundraiser in the near future.

Specifically Pacific (a new community initiative)

Specifically Pacific (SP) has started at 'Te Kura kaupapa Maori o Otepou' a local total immersion maori school. This term our focus is on Samoa in which we will teach various aspects of Samoan culture.

Plans for a school trip to Hawaii in September are on its way. Parents are currently working on fundraiser activities.

If you wish to contribute to this, please contact us info@islandbreeze.org.nz

SP began to teach at another local school 'Te kura o matapihi' and will be teaching there for 4 days on Hawaii. Kids learnt about the different musical implements and the names used in their dances, they learnt a few Hawaiian basic dance moves and have begun to learn a Hawaiian song.

 PRAYER POINTS

1 Pray for financial provision for Te haerenga and that the dessert night will be successful.

2 Pray for Gods continued blessings for Specifically Pacific as we transfer the songs, dances, values and a positive role model to the children.

3 Pray for staff to staff and lead Pacific Quest DTS and that we would have the right strategy to do so.
