About Tauranga

“Tauranga” means “Safe Anchorage

Tauranga’s God given prophetic destiny is to be a place of safety, peace and rest, and a place where God will gather in the harvest. With the ideal climate, beautiful surroundings, and central locality, combined with strategic economic planning and aggressive harbor development, provide an attractive lifestyle that is causing a population growth estimated at 250 people per month who are flooding into the area.

Tauranga is indeed a city that is flourishing.

The three main towns or small city’s along the coast are Tauranga, Mt. Maunganui (Mauao), and Whakatane. The magnificent crescent shaped Bay of Plenty stretches from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east. It includes several small islands, and is backed by the Kaimai and Raukumara Ranges to the south.

Tauranga is one of the main cities in the Bay of Plenty areas. It is known as a tourist attraction because of its fishing and water sports and also for the various cafes located along the waterfront. It also offers magnificent ocean beaches, which are located from Katikati to the Mount extending to Papamoa.

Tauranga is also close to the kiwi fruit center of New Zealand . Located just south of Tauranga in Te Puke, you will be amazed at the recent development and attraction of a Kiwi fruit center, which is open to all who pass by.
