Rurea taitea…. A journey in cultural restoration and understanding

Rurea taitea – A journey in cultural restoration and understanding is designed to strip away everything that holds us back from walking in the fullness of who we were created to be. The 3 month wananga (gathering/forum) will help you gain understanding on how to recognize the seeds of truth and restorative gifts that reside within your own culture and that of others, equip you to move in the fullness of those gifts as the Creator has intended, and model how to facilitate His unique expressions within the nations.

Set against the backdrop of the indigenous Maori community of NZ, our wananga is designed to journey closely with a people that have had a negative impact from the arrival of the “church” and the imposition of another culture only to rise above these challenges in strength, dignity and courage with their cultural identity and heritage even stronger than before and the fingerprints of the Creator in tact which still guide and lead them today.

We will journey together to strip away the negative impact of modern society and worldviews, missions, loss of identity and dignity in different cultural contexts and get to the heart of what the Creator intended when he placed us within the boundaries that He did.

As we journey together we hope to see freedom and transformation come to people, their culture and their nation through the principles of cultural restoration and the dynamics of community transformation.

Rurea taitea, kia toitū ko taikaka anake: 'Strip away the outer bark so that the heartwood can be seen'
